All-State Orchestra

Earlier this month, six of White Station’s orchestra students participated in Tennessee Music Education Association’s All-State Orchestra Clinic in Nashville. For three days freshman Nathaniel Keryordeh, sophomores Alex Chung, Josh Leow, Collin Lindsay, and seniors Caleb Dean and Hannah Piecuch were rehearsing and performing at Nashville’s Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center.

High schoolers from all across the state of Tennessee arrived in Nashville to showcase their skills in stringed orchestral music. The 9th-10th String Orchestra, directed by Dr. Kirk Moss, featured Variations on a Theme of Frescobaldi while the 11th-12th String Orchestra performed four movements of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake under the direction of Phillip Mann.

These six students had gone through an audition process, outranking other students in West Tennessee. These students were then able to move on to All-State, which combined other orchestral students from East and Middle Tennessee.

The Scroll congratulates all who participated in the event.
