WSHS welcomes new SPED teacher

As teachers and students file back through the halls for the start of yet another school year, there is a new face among them. Joining the Spartan family for his first year teaching is Cas Crenshaw, the newest addition to the Special Education department at White Station.

Despite being new to the school, Crenshaw is by no means new to the field of special education, having previously gained experience working with disabled children at a camp in Michigan.

“I’ve always had a heart for kids with special needs,” Crenshaw said. “I just fell in love with it and knew it was my passion.”

Since his arrival at White Station, Crenshaw has already taken notice of the school’s overall character.

“[So far, my favorite thing about White Station is] the student to teacher atmosphere and how there’s a good connection with the two,” Crenshaw said. “There’s an understanding of expectations with behavior and academics.”

Although he has only been a part of the Spartan family for a short while, Crenshaw’s goals for the year are already cemented.

“My hopes are just to build relationships with students and other teachers, just to be able to impact them as best as I can,” Crenshaw said.
