Twice a year, White Station students gather in the cafeteria to make signs for the marquee sporting event of the semester: the homecoming game. These decorations are a testament to students’ creativity and support of Spartan athletics.

This year, the White Station football team will play Germantown in the homecoming game, giving the signs an anti-Red Devil theme.

“[My favorite sign is] ‘Whoever threw that paper, your mom’s a Red Devil,’” Bayley Jones (11) said.

This tradition has been going on for years, but it remains significant.

“I think it’s important to decorate for homecoming because, first of all, school spirit is a huge thing,” Amarie Raymond (10) said, “[also] you don’t want it to look like just any other day because this is homecoming week.”
