Miss Americana Documentary Review

The documentary showcases Taylor Swift’s career over several years. She shows some of her personal and private life as a pop star through her eyes.

Taylor Swift’s documentary, Miss Americana, was released on Netflix on January 31 for viewers to watch the popstar’s career success.

The documentary featured intimate footage of Swift’s backstage and onstage concert from her tours, specifically her Reputation tour.

Also, the documentary showed some personal events of Swift’s private life away from her public life that fans were excited to see released in the documentary.

Swift includes some of the most known and public moments of her career like the Kardashian-West feud, the 2009 VMAs interruption and her political opinion being revealed that shaped her life.

One surprising clip that shocked Swiftie fan Mary Pittman (10) when she watched the documentary was the artist’s unrevealed eating disorder.

“I didn’t realize how scary it was for her,” Pittman said. “She was really brave to reveal the scene in the documentary to share.”

Miss Americana shows Swift transitioning from being the ‘good girl’ since being in the entertainment business to being more confident and bold in expressing her opinions and views in music and life.

“In the documentary, it is shown how much she has improved on being more self-confident in her way,” Pittman said. “It doesn’t matter what people say about what she is doing.”

Throughout the documentary, Swift shows her hanging with her friends, feeding her cats and doing other ‘normal’ things that ‘normal’ people do in everyday life that shows she is human too.

“I enjoyed getting to see how life is like as a famous person especially Taylor Swift,” Pittman said. “The differences and similarities between famous people and not famous people were exciting to see.”
