Throughout the season, the team demonstrated progress, resolve, and passion for the sport, creating many memories in their matches. Their journey has been a testament to their work and commitment, leaving an impression on both fans and players. As they faced each opponent, they tried to sharpen their skills, and tried strengthening the team’s bond.

With the new season approaching, the soccer team is preparing to take the field once again. The roster includes returning players and new additions, all focused on enhancing their teamwork and refining their skills. Upcoming matches will provide an opportunity to assess their progress and establish the momentum for the season ahead.
“I am excited going into the season because it’s my first season ever. It’s like a brand new environment and I’ve just been developing [on the field],” Adan Sanchez (12) said.

The soccer team has been working to create an environment where all players feel included and supported. They have been engaging in team-building activities and encouraging open communication to help both returning and new players integrate and contribute. These efforts aim to promote mutual respect and understanding among team members as they prepare for the upcoming season.
“This year we had a lot of seniors leave so we have had more people join the team so it has been kind of difficult in practice. It’s just been different and it is all just a matter of having to adapt to new players and new playstyles,” Ethan Manuel (12) said.
Most players contribute by focusing on specific aspects of the game, such as maintaining possession, creating opportunities or providing defensive support. These contributions are coordinated to ensure a balanced and effective team performance. By understanding and executing their respective roles, these players work together to achieve the team’s objectives.
“I try to contribute by scoring goals and defensively just making sure we don’t get scored on as much as possible,” Aldair Manuel (12) said.
Throughout the season, the team participated in various matches that contributed to their development and experience. Notable games included contests against teams such as Arlington High School, Whitehaven High and much more. Each match provided opportunities for players to apply their skills and adapt to different playing styles. These experiences are valuable for the team’s growth and preparation for future competitions.
“One of the most memorable moments was one of the first wins of our season. We had a rough start so it wasn’t looking too good until we won our first game and the team had a big celebration,” Sanchez said.
Reflecting on the season’s experiences, the team is now focusing on setting clear objectives for the upcoming season. Establishing specific goals, such as improving communication, enhancing fitness levels, and increasing scoring opportunities, helps set some groundwork for expectations from the team. These objectives aim to guide the team’s efforts and measure progress throughout the season.
“We just need to put more effort into how much we fight in games and also the improvement of all the players. I know we have different skill sets and we can all improve in our own ways,” Ethan Manuel said.
