Though a digital photographer for the newspaper, Aylen has worked with film photography for more than five years and appreciates its timeless beauty and raw quality. She is a social justice activist involved in numerous local and state non-profit organizations, and on weekends, Aylen extends her support of worker rights globally by volunteering at Global Goods, a fair trade store in Memphis located at 1000 S.Cooper, encouraging others to shop with a conscious. “Don’t be a marshmallow. Walk the street with us into history. Get off the sidewalk. Stop being vegetables. Work for Justice. Viva the boycott!” – Dolores Huerta
