Memphis is home to various beautiful places perfect for snapping a quick photo for Instagram. The possibilities for a photo shoot in this city are endless, from parks to museums to famous landmarks. So, here is a list of the top 10 most instagrammable spots in Memphis! 

  • Shelby Farms

This park is practically begging to be photographed! Here you will find rolling fields with various trees, lakes, and plants. Currently, fall foliage is infiltrating the park with smears of orange, red and yellow leaves. Take a picture alongside Hyde Lake, one of the hidden trails or the Coastal Fish Restaurant! 

  • Overton Park 

For all the midtown lovers out there, Overton Park is the place to go to! The Greensward is perfect for an artsy picnic photoshoot, and do not forget to visit The Overton Park Shell and pose on the stage. There is also a gorgeous forest behind the park that is filled with walking trails with views of green, orange and red this time of year. 

  • Memphis Botanic Garden

The Memphis Botanic Garden is one of the best spots for a photoshoot during the fall, spring and summer. The 100 different species the garden features make it a gorgeous place for a photo opportunity. They have 10 different sections such as the Sculpture, Rose, Iris, and Water Garden. 

  • Dixon Gallery 

The Dixon’s collection comprises more than 2000 objects including French and American Impressionist paintings and German porcelain. The museum presents 8-10 exhibitions every year, including a perfect one for fall featuring a cottage made from pumpkins. Inside the gallery are various paintings and unique sculptures to also snap a quick photo with!

  • Brooks Museum 

The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art is one of the largest art museums in the South, filled with an outstanding collection of art and antiques. With monthly exhibitions such as the most recent “Evanescent” exhibit that was filled with giant, sparkling bubbles. The Brooks Museum never disappoints as a backdrop. 

  • Novel Bookstore 

For book lovers, Novel is a cozy place to go to browse the latest reads. The ebony bookshelves stuffed with books make up a perfect background for a picture. Don’t forget to pose with the aesthetic desserts and drinks from the cafe!

  • Parking Garages

Parking garages are a creative way to get a unique shot for an Instagram post. The Seasons 52, Crosstown and Overton Square parking garages are some of the most popular for photographs. 

  • Crosstown Concourse 

Rebuilt in 2015, Crosstown is home to a YMCA, Crosstown Arts, restaurants, and businesses.It is the place to visit for creative photoshoots. Almost every corner is a photo opportunity from their iconic red staircase to the changing backgrounds in the art museum section. 

  • Overton Square 

Grab a quick bite at the Memphis Pizza Cafe and then pose in front of the “Overton Square” sign and Golden India lit up the hallway. Take a picture with the giant bell or with a burger from Bellyacres. Don’t forget to stop by the parking garage next to it that has views of different Overton Square shops. 

  • Bass Pro Shops Pyramid

The Bass Pro Shop is quite a unique building. In the shape of a pyramid, inside is floored upon floors of places to eat, shop, take pictures and even bowl. If you aren’t afraid of heights, take a trip to the top floor and have a photoshoot on the glass skydeck.
