Brandon Allen Instagram Poll Results
Within hours of Brandon Allen’s historic homecoming court nomination, social media was flooded with responses, both positive and negative. Students, teachers and parents alike took to the internet to voice their opinions.
“WSHS loves and supports everyone regardless of who they are or what they believe,” principal Carrye Holland said in a Facebook post. “Thank you for the love and light from so many of you.”
The Scroll decided to post an Instagram poll on Oct. 1 asking for users’ comments on Allen’s win.
“Brandon becoming homecoming royalty is revolutionary and shows that WSHS is truly diverse,” one user said.
Overall, the 28 responses received were positive. Students were generally supportive of Allen’s nomination, noting how he was chosen by his peers to represent White Station.
“We voted for him because we love and support him and we wanted him to represent us,” another student said.
However, not all students were as enthusiastic about the news.
“I don’t really care who becomes the royalty,” another user said. “But I congratulate him.”
Regardless, the students that responded felt that they had made the right decision in choosing Allen.
“He deserves it,” one student said. “He’s a positive person and a good representation for our school.”
