White Station singers perform in honor choir
Members of the White Station Choirs represented their school and showcased their artistic abilities in the Tennessee All-Southwest Honor Choir throughout Nov. 15-17.
Every year, students from the Southwest area of Tennessee audition for a chance to participate in either the junior high or senior high honor choir, where two guest clinicians are brought in to conduct the groups. The junior high group consists of seventh to ninth graders, while the senior high group consists of ninth to 12th graders.
Each year, a new clinician and a new set of music brings a new experience.
“Being part of such a talented group of people is mind-blowing, and I am so glad I decided to audition,” Maddie Hitching said. “I made several new friends and enjoyed being instructed by this year’s insightful clinician.”
Not only is making the honor choir an aspiration for choir members in the area, but making it for several consecutive years and qualifying for the Tennessee All-State Choir is also the goal for most.
