The Lady Spartans and FACS Crusaders in a group huddle after the game on April 18.

The Lady Spartans fought hard in their game against First Assembly Christian School (FACS) but came two runs short of winning. Starting pitcher Peyton Caccamisi (#20) led the girls with a good start playing with good defense in all seven innings; however the pitcher for FACS stayed aggressive with very low fastpitch balls flying just above the knees. Most of the girls were able to get a few good hits off of her, like Sofia Murtaugh (11), Audrey Garrett (11), and Alinda Tucker (11) with some very nice bunts. Unfortunately the girls were not able to come back from the runs scored in the earlier innings, but luckily the game didn’t count against them since it was not a district game. Leaving with the girls with their title of undefeated in district. If you’re interested in checking out the Lady Spartans their next game is April 25 at St. Agnes and their next home game is versus Central on April 26. The cost of the game for students is three dollars and for adults it’s five. If you’re really feeling generous you could buy a season pass for $35 to support the Lady Spartans.
